  • This project focuses on promoting conversion to organic production and good agroecological practices on a 120-hectare network of farms with citrus crops, greenhouses and arable land.

It aims to reduce anthropic pressures and impacts at source of agricultural activity in the watershed of the Mar Menor, through pilot projects that apply and promote good practices based on nature and conversion to organic production, promoting a just ecological transition to sustainability and viability of agricultural systems, in balance with the related ecosystems of high natural value.

  • Establishment of a network of lighthouse farms (60 ha) and pilot farms (120 ha) to serve as an example for continuous improvement and conversion of other farmers to reduce the impacts at source of agricultural activity in the Mar Menor watershed.
  • Analysis of existing agricultural systems for the proposal of best practices and monitoring of their effectiveness.
  • Development of a territorialized and adaptable digital manual according to the type of crop and characteristics of the agroecosystem for the transition to organic production models with an agroecological approach.
  • Development of an itinerary for the adoption of good agroecological practices and conversion to organic production.
