The benefits that forests can bring are manifold. This project aims to promote the bioeconomy in order to make the added value of Mediterranean forest products and services more visible and to optimize forest management to improve their profitability and increase their competitiveness compared to products with a much higher carbon footprint. In addition, this will not only promote employment in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality, promoting local green jobs and integrating environmental awareness into the training programs themselves. Without forgetting that, if we do not act, the risk of fires, pests and degradation is increasingly higher, driven by climate change.

Promote forest management in the Valencian Community to optimize the capacity of forests to generate economic activity in rural areas while improving forest fire prevention and the integral resilience of the territory.

The forestry resources of the Inner Mancomunidad Tierra del Vino and Camp de Turia will be evaluated and quantified; their biomass utilization plans will be developed; the wood value chain will be optimized, developing energy uses (improving logistics and utilization facilities) and testing other possible uses; and the management of public and private forest areas will be promoted through multilevel and collaborative governance initiatives (custody agreements, exchange of best practices). In addition, training of the regional forestry sector will be strengthened and activities will be carried out to raise awareness of the added value of sustainably managed products.
