Node de Hábitats proposes the creation of an urban forest in the north of the city that will promote biodiversity, connection with the city and compatible and respectful public use and will generate a large carbon sink as a measure to combat climate change and increase air quality. The realization of this new park in conditions of naturalization and integration into the urban environment, represents a paradigm shift with sustainability and resilience criteria that can be exported, in whole or in part, both to projects in newly created areas in the urban developments planned for the future, and in possible complete or partial remodeling of the existing parks in the city. The project is part of a broader global action called “Regeneration of the Old Alcobendas Landfill”, made up of three parts that constitute a joint action of about 12 million euros.
The actions of the project include:
Regeneration of the old Alcobendas landfill (Habitats Node).
