Renault Spain, through its Foundation for Sustainable Mobility, and with the collaboration of the Club for Excellence in Sustainability, has presented the Awards for Best Practice in Sustainable Mobility, to which 70 nominations have been submitted in this first edition, and in which the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment has participated as a jury.

The Awards, which were presented by Jaime Haddad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, José Antonio López, General Manager of Renault Spain, and José Longás, President of the Club for Excellence in Sustainability, recognise those projects whose objective is to achieve greater sustainability in cities.

Thus, in the Company category, CAPSA FOOD’s “Strategic Alliances in Sustainable Mobility” project was awarded, which consists of the integration of the entire supply chain into the practice of sustainable mobility and the generation of value for all priority stakeholders for the company.

For its part, the Malaga City Council has received the Award in the Public Administration category for the “Zem2All” project, the integration of the electric vehicle through a real large-scale test in the city of Malaga, achieving a perfect integration of all the key elements and actors for the successful deployment of the project.

In the category of Entrepreneurs, the Award has gone to XICLO Última Milla, in recognition of the initiative of its two founding partners who implement a system of distribution of goods in the urban center of Valladolid with the electric bicycle and tricycle as protagonists. These vehicles have been fitted with kilometer counting devices that provide real statistics on the emissions avoided into the atmosphere.

In the case of the Runner-up, the University of Valencia has been recognised for its “Evomobile” project, a living-Iab that aims to serve as a test bed for the evaluation of technologies and the social, economic and environmental impact of the electric vehicle while promoting its use among the university community. eCooltra has also been awarded for its “Sustainable Formentera” project in the SME category. The company has opted for electric mobility, acquiring 100 new motorcycles in this range, which constitutes 50% of its motorcycle rental fleet for tourists and residents of Formentera. With which it manages to reduce environmental and noise pollution, key in the conservation of this natural area.
