Carbonpedia, the carbon footprint database

Share on:

ECODES has launched a new carbon footprint database, where information is collected from the studies carried out on the carbon footprint of products, services, entities and events. The objective is to promote the dissemination of the carbon footprint in order to improve the transparency of entities, both public and private, in relation to their climate policy.

In collaboration with the Biodiversity Foundation, ECODES has launched this initiative where the results of the studies carried out at the national level, as well as the results of sustainability reports of entities find with this tool a meeting place where all this information can be organized and compiled, which results in a more effective search, thanks also to its immediate and free access. supporting and facilitating the dissemination, transparency and communication of Spanish entities regarding their climate policy. ECODES is responsible for approving the veracity of the data received before making the information public and has the support of a Panel of Experts on Corporate Social Responsibility and/or Climate Change. The climate change area will process the information obtained from the web platform, and on a quarterly basis a publication will be created on the Carbonpedia website of the indicators that ECODES considers most representative. Likewise, a compilation of the interim reports will be made and included in a final report under the title “A year of Carbonpedia”, a text that will analyze the operation and results of Carbonpedia.

In addition, through this database it will be possible to obtain absolute and relative indicators of the carbon footprint in Spain. Carbonpedia allows interested entities to join, which will be able to include their carbon footprint information in the database. To date, there are already more than 100 entity registries.
