Last Thursday, April 18, the headquarters of the Biodiversity Foundation hosted the Workshop “Companies, NGOs and Biodiversity: the case of the Natura 2000 Network”, organized by Fundación Global Nature (FGN) with the aim of analyzing the role of NGOs in the search for challenges and opportunities to integrate biodiversity into business management.

The European Business and Biodiversity Campaign, which has disseminated in Spain since 2010 the importance of including biodiversity management in business management, promotes this workshop for NGOs as they are fundamental actors in the development of biodiversity projects within the framework of the CSR of companies.

This workshop, inaugurated by the deputy director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ignacio Torres, together with Eduardo de Miguel, managing director of the FGN, was structured around two round tables (“Practical cases, the vision of biodiversity management entities” and “Practical cases, the business vision”) and a working group.

This meeting was attended by the following entities:  Biodiversity Foundation, FGN, OCEANA,  SEO/Birdlife, Brown Bear Foundation,  Union of Unions, Association of Environmental Sciences,  WWF,  Tormes Foundation, CONAMA Foundation,  Sakya Tashi Ling Buddhist Monks, FORETICA,  Félix Rodriguez de la Fuente Foundation, Ambienta45,  FSC,  Naturix Aquaculture,  FIRE, Carrizales Irrigation Community,  Oxygen Foundation and Bodegas Torres.
