May 21 is the European Day of the Natura 2000 Network. This celebration is part of the LIFE+ project Activate your authentic wealth. Natura 2000 Network, developed by SEO/BirdLife and the EFE Agency, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, the Biodiversity Foundation, Red Eléctrica de España and the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Castilla y León, the Basque Country, Navarre, the Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Madrid and Cantabria.

The Biodiversity Foundation team joins this celebration in a gesture with our protected areas of the Natura 2000 Network, because even the smallest gestures have great power. The simple flapping of a butterfly’s wings can change the world.

Anyone interested in joining the initiative can do so on the website www.natura2000day.eu making the butterfly gesture with their hands. In exchange for all the gestures received, the administrations will carry out conservation actions in their Natura 2000 Network spaces. You can also participate by tagging the photo from Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #DiaNatura2000.
