Young people from Madrid find a job opportunity in agriculture

Young people from Madrid have found a job opportunity as farmers thanks to the aid granted by the Community of Madrid, a subsidy that has tripled in the last four years.

With the installation of an annual average of between 40 and 50 new young farmers, with a total investment of 2.8 million euros, these grants manage to modernize their farms, thus improving the productive efficiency and competitiveness of agriculture in the region.

These actions are carried out in order to support young entrepreneurs who focus their attention on the local resources of the region, betting on rural development and the promotion of livestock and agriculture in Madrid. That is why generational renewal is one of the keys to agrarian rejuvenation.

The subsidies are part of the Rural Development Programme of the Community of Madrid and are co-financed by the European Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
