The Brown Bear Foundation inaugurates today the Projection and Multiple Uses Room of the Casa del Oso, located in Verdeña (Palencia), an extension of the space dedicated to the nature classroom with the aim of improving the current endowment of La Casa del Oso Cantábrico.

To this end, the new space will allow the development of environmental awareness and education activities with school groups so that they can learn in depth about the ecology of this species and therefore, help to understand the problems that exist around the conservation of the brown bear.

This project has been developed thanks to the synergies between the public and private sector and NGOs, three key sectors for the conservation of this species. The Biodiversity Foundation, the ACS Foundation and the Brown Bear Foundation have been responsible for carrying out this project, a further step towards improving the conservation status of the brown bear.

This cultural, recreational and informative space, which has been operating for years in the town of Verdeña, thus complements its offer of training and awareness about one of the most emblematic species of the Cantabrian Mountains.

The Biodiversity Foundation has been working for years on the conservation of the brown bear, a species classified as “endangered”, through environmental communication and awareness projects, as well as research projects on the ecology of the species, surveillance, control and direct protection, through specialised monitoring patrols, habitat improvement projects and the development of land stewardship agreements.
