The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, the managing director of the Spanish Railways Foundation, Jaime Barreiro, and the director of the Greenways Programme of the Spanish Railways Foundation, Carmen Aycart, presented today in Madrid the publication “Sustainable Development and Employment in Greenways”.
It is a text made within the framework of the pioneering project in Europe “Green Employment Pathways”, which has been developed by the Spanish Railways Foundation through the Empleaverde Program of the Biodiversity Foundation.
The more than one hundred pages of this publication, published with the support of the European Social Fund, and with the collaboration of the Provincial Councils of Cádiz, Jaén and Toledo, with a prologue by the director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, aim to show a good number of practical and proven experiences in the management of greenways that, In an exemplary way, they are contributing to rural development and the generation of employment in the regions in which they are inserted.
In the book you can find a selection of good practices in the development of Greenways, which encourage the settlement of rural populations in the territory and, with it, productive diversification and care for the environment.
