The Biodiversity Foundation has participated today in the presentation of the results of the project of the Conservation Plan of the Montseny Biosphere Reserve Natural Park, which has taken place within the framework of the V Technical Seminar “Good practices in the conservation of habitats and species”.

This project, which has had the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, set out to diagnose the state of conservation of the flora, fauna, habitat and landscapes of the Montseny Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve, as well as to develop the structure and bases of its Conservation Plan. At the same time, it was also sought to incorporate into the park’s management dynamics work procedures based on the “Quality Standard in Management for Conservation”, led by the conservation group of EUROPARC-Spain.

In this sense, the project has carried out a study of the state of conservation of the natural heritage, based on the information collected through a complete field monitoring program, and has generated predictive cartography for the determination of critical conservation areas. It has also identified its threats and opportunities in order to define priorities for action.
