The “Alzando el vuelo” Stewardship Network, implemented by SEO/BirdLife in collaboration with the Biodiversity Foundation, has announced the “Entre Águilas” contest through which it seeks to recognize the different nature conservation projects developed within the framework of the Network of Municipalities.
This initiative promotes the participation of authorities and inhabitants in the conservation policies of the Iberian imperial eagle, its habitat and the biodiversity of its environment.
There are two themes that make up the contest: the management of the habitat of the Iberian imperial eagle and the dissemination and awareness of it. Around these two subjects, completed projects or those in the development phase aimed at the preservation of nature and biodiversity of the different localities may be presented.
The three award-winning initiatives will be recognised by SEO/BirdLife, and will have the support and dissemination for the implementation of these projects through the Stewardship Network.
The ‘Taking Flight’ Network, which has 116 municipalities, more than 22,000 hectares of private farms and more than 100 schools, has been working on the conservation of the Iberian imperial eagle since 2006.
The deadline for submitting candidacies will be open until November 15. More information at www.aguilaimperial.org.
