The “Mamaterra” Ecological Children’s Festival, with which the Biodiversity Foundation collaborates, will take place within the framework of this activity.
The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, a public foundation under the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, Ana Leiva, attends this Thursday, November 4, the inauguration of the 26th edition of the Fair of Organic Products and Responsible Consumption “Biocultura”, in the Glass Pavilion of the Casa de Campo in Madrid.
Until Sunday, November 7, more than 700 exhibitors will offer their sustainable products and services to an audience that is expected to reach 100,000 visitors. Nearly 17,000 references of organic food products make up the obligatory tour of the fair. In addition, certified hygiene and cosmetic products, eco-materials, furniture and decoration for the home, new technologies in renewable energies, innovation in complementary therapies, savings and recycling products, environment, rural tourism and nursing homes, toys, handicrafts,
music, books and magazines.
In addition, as every year since 2007, the Biodiversity Foundation collaborates with the Healthy Life Association in the realization of the Ecological Festival of Children “Mamaterra”. It is an activity that is aimed at children but also at their parents and teachers, and that aims to have fun learning, through recycling workshops, healthy cooking, organic gardening, renewable energies, ‘plant forests’, water management, theater, doll making, film screenings, storytelling and concerts.
The official opening of “Mamaterra” will be tomorrow, starting at 4:00 p.m., with the workshop “The garden up close”. On Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 October, from 10:00 a.m., there will be activities to choose from: sustainable world tour, photography with giant fruits, KM.0 Puzzle, bioca game, cooperative games, vegetable memory, fruit salad, hands of the world, make-up, ecobike circuit and walk through the orchards, among many other workshops. There will also be cooking and bread making workshops, as well as a theater function, the participation of Clowns without Borders, the realization of the Animamundi show, the making of ecological dolls with natural fibers and a good dose of cooperative games to close the Festival.
