The Corporation of Former Students and Friends of the Institución Libre de Enseñanza, together with the Giner de los Ríos Foundation, in collaboration with the Biodiversity Foundation, manage this project guided by educational objectives and important values for the good social, aesthetic and physical development of children.

The 2011 Holiday Camps will be held from July 6 to 26 in Rasines, Cantabria, and are aimed at children between 8 and 12 years old.

The planned activities are as follows:

• Excursions to the river, the beach, historical places and centres for the knowledge of the native flora and fauna.
• Routes and walks to get to know the environment and the landscape.
• Workshops that favor creative development.
• Games that in addition to fun, encourage participation, respect, imagination and coexistence.
• Care and practice of healthy habits (food, hygiene and physical exercise).
• Theatrical performances: puppets and dramatizations.
• Choir for the knowledge of popular songs.
• Library: personal or collective readings and activities around books.
• Preparation of a diary as a reminder of the activities.
