The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, has participated in the inauguration of the first course of an itinerant campaign that aims to promote waste management and recycling for the self-employed and workers of micro-enterprises in construction, commerce and hospitality. The event was held at the Youth House of the City Council of Plasencia
This is the first stop of this itinerant action that is part of the “Recicla2” project, promoted by the Union of Professionals and Self-Employed Workers of Spain (UPTA-Spain), and integrated into the Empleaverde Program of the Biodiversity Foundation.
This project aims not only to improve employment in general and in the environmental sector in particular, but also to contribute to sustainable development by alleviating the negative impact generated by the incorrect management of waste from commercial activities. In this way, the objective of the initiative is to train workers in this area, as well as to promote self-employment and the creation of green companies.
The initiative is aimed at self-employed workers and small companies in any productive sector, in the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha and Galicia, in which it is essential to carry out an employment policy for the creation of companies and the maintenance of jobs.
As the managing body of the European Social Fund (ESF), the Biodiversity Foundation has already launched two editions of the Empleaverde Programme for the improvement of employment and the environment. In this way, it manages the funds allocated to it by the Adaptability and Employment Operational Programme of the European Social Fund (F.S.E.) for the period 2007-2013.
