The activity will be held from September 16 to 22 and will promote smart mobility for the benefit of health and physical and mental well-being.

The slogan of this new edition is “Move intelligently and live better”, and seeks to promote among citizens the use of more sustainable transport, such as bicycles or public transport, which not only have a positive influence on the environment and quality of life of the cities in which they live, but also on their physical and mental well-being.

The novelty for this year is the launch, by the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs (MARM), of the Awards of the Spanish Week of Sustainable Mobility (SEMS 2010), with which it wants to make a special recognition to all those cities and municipalities that have been working for many years in the task of implementing Permanent Measures in the interest of more sustainable mobility. and to organizations, companies and institutions for the implementation of Good Practices.

A Decalogue of proposals to improve the mobility of our cities has also been drawn up, which will be announced this week.

The inauguration of the 2010 edition will be carried out by the Ministers of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, Elena Espinosa, and of Health and Social Policy, Trinidad Jiménez. It will be in the MARM Assembly Hall from 9:30 am on Thursday 16 (Plaza San Juan de la Cruz, s/n. Madrid).
