From today until next Sunday 17, the ministers of Energy of the EU meet in Seville, during the celebration of an informal council.
In addition to the corresponding working sessions, the heads of the EU Energy portfolios will monitor the results of the Climate Change Conference, held in Copenhagen last December.
The first day of the meeting, which will take place at the Palacio de Exposiciones Congresos (Fibes) in Seville, will focus on the Action Plan for Europe 2010-2014 that will include the guidelines of the EU’s energy policy for the coming years, as well as the investments in low-carbon technologies of the main lines of the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (‘SET Plan’). The Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade, Miguel Sebastián, will be responsible for opening the meeting.
On Saturday, under the presidency of the Minister of the Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs, Elena Espinosa, an analysis of the results of the Climate Change Conference held in Copenhagen in December will be carried out under the slogan “Governance and Technological Cooperation”.
The informal Council of Ministers will conclude on Sunday, with a morning visit to Abengoa’s PS20.
