The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, was one of the attendees at the meeting that brought together more than 500 women, from 50 African countries, Spain, Europe and Latin America.
This fifth meeting follows those held in Mozambique (2006), Spain (2007), Niger (2008) and Liberia (2009). The First Vice-President of the Government, María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, pointed out during the inauguration that since the Meeting held in Maputo in 2006, Women for a Better World have not stopped working to incorporate more women, governments and institutions in the effort to make the world “a more habitable, fairer and more dignified place”.
