The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of the Environment has already distributed copies of the documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”, by Al Gore. The films are aimed at students, between 13 and 17 years old, from 8,100 secondary schools in all the Autonomous Communities, except the Canary Islands, Castilla y León and the Basque Country, who gave them up.

The cost of the budget amounts to € 484,700 + VAT. This amount includes the manufacture of 32,500 DVDs, including public broadcasting rights and royalties, the edition of the new master with the incorporation of the logos of the Biodiversity Foundation and the Ministry of the Environment, and the manufacture of as many covers on recycled paper.

Likewise, the cost of the videos includes the manufacture of the brochures that accompany the DVD, shrink wrapping and manipulation, as well as the distribution of the films and the monitoring of their use in schools.

The sending of Al Gore’s videos to schools arises from the commitment of the President of the Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, who confirmed this to the Nobel Peace Prize winner during his visit to Spain last year.
