The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, a public foundation of the Government of Spain, under the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, Ana Leiva, will travel tomorrow to Ponferrada, León, to meet with the general director of the Ciudad de la Energía Foundation -Ciuden-, José Ángel Azuara, and evaluate possible ways of collaboration for the development of joint environmental projects.
Both institutions share areas of work and promote business development and job creation linked to sustainable growth and the fight against climate change. In this sense, the Biodiversity Foundation and the Ciuden Foundation will investigate the projects that each of the entities has launched in the field of renewable energies, the promotion of eco-innovation and eco-design, sustainable business development and the management of R+D+i projects that contribute to this.
The Ciuden Foundation – whose Board of Trustees is made up of senior officials from the Ministries of Industry, Tourism and Trade; Science and Innovation and Environment, and Rural and Marine Affairs– has become a reference centre in the region of El Bierzo, due to its commitment to the creation of quality employment and its contribution to economic recovery.
The mission of the Biodiversity Foundation is to promote the conservation of natural heritage and biodiversity in order to preserve its function within the framework of sustainable development, with special attention to its contribution to the progress of the rural environment. Natural heritage and biodiversity play an important social role due to their close link with people’s health, quality of life and well-being.
