The Secretary General for Territory and Biodiversity, Antonio Serrano, will inaugurate tomorrow, June 21, at 4:30 p.m., the seminar “Policies to Combat Desertification”, organized by the Biodiversity Foundation on the occasion of the celebration on June 17 of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought.

For her part, the director of the Biodiversity Foundation, María Artola, will close this conference at 7:00 p.m., which aims to deepen the knowledge of the causes and consequences of desertification.

Prominent experts will participate in this meeting, such as the professor of the Blaustein Institute for Desert Research in Israel, Uriel Safriel, who will present the keys to combating desertification and the latest advances made within the framework of international agreements. In addition, policies designed to deal with this threat in Spain will be discussed.
