The Minister of the Environment, Cristina Narbona, today presented the “Awareness Campaign on Forest Fires and Drought 2006”, which her department will develop during the summer months.
The objective of the campaign is to raise public awareness about the importance of our behavior in the natural environment and to discourage inadvisable practices, which involve a risk of fire, to help reduce the impacts caused by these accidents.
The slogan that will be used, “The total is what counts”, coincides with that of the awareness campaign that the Ministry of the Environment develops during the rest of the year to inform and raise awareness about the need to assume respectful behaviors with the conservation of natural resources and the protection of the environment. Some of the ads and graphic elements that the agency “Concepto” created for this campaign will continue to air and run throughout the summer.
To this material are added from today the two advertisements and graphic elements of “Newton 21” on water saving, drought and forest fire prevention. The summer campaign, which focuses its message on prevention, will be broadcast from today until the end of the summer on the six national television channels, on the video systems of long-distance trains and buses and on different advertising media.
