The Commission for the Incorporation of Environmental Criteria into Public Procurement has been formally constituted at a meeting chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Environment.

The Interministerial Commission will have the task of preparing a report on the current degree of incorporation of environmental criteria in public procurement or the status of the same. A Technical Working Group made up of the Ministries of the Environment, Economy and Finance, Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Defence, Justice and Public Administrations has been commissioned to prepare this report, which should be ready within a month.

In order for environmentally friendly practices to be applied in public procurement, a Green Public Procurement Plan will be drawn up to promote the General State Administration and its public bodies.

The Commission is made up of representatives of each of the Ministries and chaired by the Undersecretary for the Environment.
