The ECOinformas project is part of the Operational Programmes of “Entrepreneurship and Continuous Training 2000-2006” of the European Social Fund and is co-financed by the Biodiversity Foundation.
The Trade Union Institute of Work, Environment and Health (ISTAS), Foundation of Comisiones Obreras, has launched ECOinformas, a training and advice program on the environment (www.ecoinformas.com), aimed at workers in small and medium-sized enterprises and self-employed workers who are in any of the sectors affected by the new environmental regulations. The creation of tools that help prevent chemical risk and advice through an Environmental Observatory are the main commitments of the ECOinformas project.
The Environmental Observatory is a digital platform that offers advice to workers on any aspect related to the application of new environmental standards (National Allocation Plan, Law on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control, chemical risk, etc.) and which can already be accessed through the programme’s website (www.ecoinformas.com). In addition, the Observatory will analyse the situation of the sectors affected by the new legislation and propose solutions to their specific needs.
The fieldwork of the Environmental Observatory will be completed with a series of studies on topics such as sustainable development, climate change or chemical risk, seen from an integrative perspective of occupational health and the environment.
