The Council of Ministers has authorized at its meeting today the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of the Environment, through the Guadiana Hydrographic Confederation, and the Provincial Council of Toledo for the execution of different actions included in the plan for forest hydrological restoration and protection of riverbeds in the province of Toledo.

These works are part of the actions of the Forest Hydrological and Watercourse Protection Plan 2000-2006 which has, among other objectives, those of protection, channeling, conditioning, cleaning and drainage of riverbeds.

The Guadiana Hydrographic Confederation will finance 70 percent of the work, through the Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union, and the Provincial Council of Toledo will contribute the remaining 30 percent.

The agreement will enter into force from the date of its formalisation and will end with the completion of the corresponding works file.
