The Director of Environmental Quality and Assessment and the Natural Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, Guillermina Yanguas, today inaugurated the 11th entrepreneurship meeting “Eco-innovation with recycled materials, an opportunity to undertake green”, an initiative developed by the Emprendeverde Network of the Ministry’s Biodiversity Foundation . During the inauguration, Yanguas stressed that “recycling has a priority role in the change towards a green economy that generates prosperity, while maintaining a healthy environment“.
These meetings, which have also had the participation of the director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Sonia Castañeda, have as their main objective to promote the creation and consolidation of companies or new lines of business in the field of ecodesign and recycling.
The event held today, focused on eco-innovation with recycled materials, is the last within the framework of collaboration signed with Ecoembes. Representatives of initiatives that are part of the Emprendeverde Network, such as ECOALF, ZICLA, OIKO and SOLTECO, participated in the event.
The entrepreneurs have told their innovative experiences in this field, and after their interventions, the attendees have had the opportunity to exchange opinions, detect new business opportunities and establish contacts between them.
The “Emprendeverde Meetings” are micro-learning and networking events aimed at entrepreneurs of the Emprendeverde Network, which already has more than 7,000 members, and is the first platform specialized in green business aimed at entrepreneurs and investors. Its purpose is to promote the creation and consolidation of companies or new lines of business in activities related to the environment and to channel investment towards sustainable economic activities.
The Red emprendeverde is an initiative co-financed by the European Social Fund. More than 350 people have already participated in the previous “Emprendeverde Meetings”, which have dealt with topics as diverse as water, the circular economy or sustainable mobility.
