Linking Biodiversity Business Management, Climate Change and the Circular Economy

Share on:

The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment has participated in the presentation of two documents that analyse the link between the business management of biodiversity, climate change and the circular economy. These documents have been produced within the framework of the project “Responsible with Biodiversity: connecting knowledge and trends”, which is managed by Forética with the support of the Biodievrsidad Foundation. The conference was attended by representatives of the public administration, academics, journalists, NGOs and companies.

The text analyzes the link between biodiversity and climate change, and the challenges and opportunities involved in its management. The research focuses on the role of biodiversity in mitigating and adapting to the effects of climate change and provides examples of biodiversity business management actions that meet the objective of fighting global warming.

The second research carried out by Forética is an infographic that breaks down the link between natural capital and the circular economy into different points, that is, how biodiversity plays a very important role in each phase of this economic model that aims at efficiency in the use of resources and environmental protection.

The conference was attended by the deputy director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ignacio Torres, who pointed out that “although there is still much to do, it is true that we are increasingly aware of the importance of conserving our ecosystems, on which our well-being and that of future generations depends. And we are all involved in this, the administration, the private sector and the citizens. All our gestures, our decisions, have their effect on the future of our biodiversity.”
