40 foundations and donors from different countries have met in La Bergerie (France), with the aim of discussing where to focus the efforts of their contributions. Among the attendees was the Biodiversity Foundation, represented by its director Sonia Castañeda. The conference was organised by the European Centre for Foundations.

Among the issues discussed were the agreements of the COP21 in Paris to reduce the impacts of climate change in the more than 190 countries represented in the negotiations last December. Also the common agrarian reform and the results of a study carried out by the European Foundation Centre and in which the Biodiversity Foundation has participated.

The aim of this study was to provide a comprehensive overview of the support granted by European foundations in the field of the environment. These studies analyse the destination of these grants, which in previous years have been mainly dedicated to biodiversity and species conservation projects, terrestrial ecosystems and climate change prevention.
