Delivery of the one million climate commitments achieved in Spain thanks to civil society and public and private entities

Within the framework of the Climate Summit (COP 21) being held in Paris, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, Isabel García Tejerina, today delivered to the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Christiana Figueres, the more than 1,100,000 climate commitments achieved so far within the framework of this initiative promoted in Spain by the Ministry and the ECODES Foundation. 
 
During her visit to the Climate Summit, García Tejerina congratulated the more than 750 public and private entities and the thousands of citizens who have committed themselves to the fight against climate change, which, according to the minister, “demonstrates the high degree of commitment and awareness that Spaniards are acquiring to achieve a change in the economic model and a more sustainable society”.
 
The “One Million Commitments for the Climate” initiative was launched last June with the aim of raising awareness among citizens, companies, public administrations and social organizations and entities in our country against climate change.
