From 26 to 29 November, the Municipal Conference Centre in Madrid hosted the 14th edition of the National Congress on the Environment (Conama 2018). The Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITECO) had a space open to dialogue, in which under the slogan #Conversamos fifteen activities were programmed in which more than 50 speakers spoke with more than 500 people during the congress.
The Secretaries of State for Energy and the Environment, the Directors-General for Biodiversity and Environmental Quality and Sustainability of the Coast and the Sea, the Director of the Spanish Office for Climate Change, the Director of the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) and the Director of the Autonomous National Parks Agency (OAPN), among others, went to the MITECO booth at Conama 2018 to talk with the attendees.
In addition, the former Ministers of the Environment Cristina Narbona and Elvira Rodríguez participated in the session “Environmental policy in 40 years of the Constitution”, where more than 80 people were able to debate with them.
From the Biodiversity Foundation we talk about biodiversity, marine litter, and ecological restoration. Visitors were also able to learn about LIFE INTEMARES, the largest marine conservation project in Europe, and how social agents participate in adaptation to climate change, through the LIFE SHARA project, which also had an informative exhibition during the four days of the congress.
