The Platform on Adaptation to Climate Change in Spain, AdapteCCa, presents its new website after seven years of activity, with a major renovation carried out within the framework of the LIFE SHARA project. With a new simple and close design, it will allow people to approach this space to browse its pages and consult the different contents in a more accessible way.
The website has been renewed with the aim of offering new functionalities and continuing to be a reference space in adaptation, more interactive, useful and practical for people. With more than 500 technical documents and a more attractive image, this new version also seeks to encourage the active participation of the climate change adaptation community to build a more collaborative space.
With the new website, the AdapteCCa Community was born, a meeting point for experts, organizations, institutions and other actors interested in accessing and exchanging information, knowledge and experiences on impacts and adaptation to climate change.
In addition, the website offers innovative content, including a specific module of practical cases, which contains more than 30 real experiences of adaptation to climate change implemented in different parts of Spain, as well as practical cases developed in Europe, accessible through an innovative collaboration with the European Climate-ADAPT Platform.
The new AdapteCCa also offers various informative resourcesand an image bank on adaptation to climate change, with more than 300 photographs on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change in Spain, which you can download for free. Finally, the climate change scenario viewer has also recently incorporated new functions.

The launch of the new website coincides with the recent publication of the draft of the National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change (PNACC) 2021-2030, the planning instrument that will guide adaptation policies and actions in the coming years. In this context, AdapteCCa is a very useful tool to strengthen the capacities of society and administrations in their adaptation actions, in accordance with the objectives of the PNACC.
The new website has been launched within the framework of the LIFE SHARA project. The project, coordinated by the Biodiversity Foundation – belonging to the Ministry for Ecological Transition – has a budget of more than 1.5 million euros, 57% co-financed through LIFE funds, and has as partners the Spanish Office for Climate Change, the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the Autonomous Agency of National Parks – through the National Center for Environmental Education (CENEAM) – and the Portuguese Agency for the Environment.
