The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition launches the second edition of “Green Employment Destination: agroecology and urban gardens”, a new action aimed at unemployed people. It will take place from today until November 28 at the La Noria social innovation center, in Malaga, and its objective is to help find a job in entities related to the green economy.

This initiative is part of the actions of the Empleaverde Programme, co-financed by the European Social Fund, and will have the “Vives Aprende” methodology developed by the NGO Action Against Hunger, which has already been applied in previous programmes, achieving very positive results in finding a job. This method, in which almost 600 people have already participated since 2017, mostly women, has made it easier for 44% of the women and 36% of the men participating to find work immediately. It is a comprehensive and practical training methodology in technical knowledge, as well as in skills for employment, identified as key to obtaining work in the green economy sector, such as trust and communication, and with a direct relationship with companies.

The Malaga Provincial Council, the La Noria Social Innovation Centre and the La Caixa Banking Foundation are collaborating in this initiative, aware of the great potential of green employment and the benefits it brings to society in all areas.

This action includes group and personalized sessions, participation in the “Cultivating Employment” event, a job fair that will last two days, attendance at technical workshops, visits to companies, simulation of job interviews or internships in companies. Companies such as Puro Huerto, Huertum, Creahuertas or Ecoherencia will participate in this training.

This second edition of Green Employment Destination is launched after the one carried out by the Empleaverde Programme in 2018, focused on social innovation, where 50% of the participants managed to find a job.

The empleaverde Programme is the initiative launched by the Biodiversity Foundation within the framework of the Employment, Training and Education Operational Programme of the European Social Fund, whose objective is to boost the sustainability of economic activities in all sectors, promoting the just transition towards a low-carbon and circular economy, integrating biodiversity into management and business processes and making more efficient use of natural resources. constituting an engine of sustainable economic growth and social progress.
