The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment supports eco-design as a sustainable and efficient job creation sector

The Director General of Environmental Quality and Assessment and the Natural Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, Guillermina Yanguas, inaugurated today, in Madrid, the ninth Emprendeverde Meeting “Ecodesign and green entrepreneurship”, organized by the Ministry’s Biodiversity Foundation to support business entrepreneurship in the environmental sector and promote the circular economy.
The meeting, which was also attended by the Director of Institutional Relations and Adhered Companies of Ecoembes, Begoña de Benito, and the Director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Sonia Castañeda, is one of the actions planned within the framework of the “Eco-Recinnova Entrepreneurship Program”, a cycle of activities developed in collaboration with Ecoembes, to promote the creation and consolidation of companies or new lines of business in the field of ecodesign, recycling and eco-innovation.
During the meeting, innovative experiences in the field of eco-design and the prevention of environmental impact were presented. Thus, experts and entrepreneurs who are members of the Emprendeverde Network such as Nicola Cerantola, from Ecologing; Carles Martínez, from Inèdit; Jordi Mayals, from L’estoc; Rafael Aparicio, from Biomival; Rubén Canerero, from IK Ingeniería, and Ignacio Bautista, from CartonLab, have shown their activity in this sector.
After these interventions, attendees were able to see first-hand different examples of eco-designed products by entrepreneurs who are members of the Network. Subsequently, a networking session was held among the attendees in which they were able to exchange their experiences.

NINTH MEETING BETWEEN ENTREPRENEURS OF THE NETWORK
The “Emprendeverde Meetings” are training and networking micro-events aimed at entrepreneurs of the Emprendeverde Network, the first platform specialized in green business aimed at entrepreneurs and investors in order to promote the creation and consolidation of companies or new lines of business in activities related to the environment and channel investment towards sustainable economic activities.
More than 300 entrepreneurs have already participated in the eight previous “Emprendeverde Meetings”, which have dealt with topics as diverse as water, the circular economy or sustainable mobility. In total, more than 38 entrepreneurs have shown their products and services in the three “emprendeverde marketplaces” organized by the Network, which already has nearly 7,000 members.
The Redemprendeverde of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment facilitates contact between entrepreneurs and investors interested in the environmental sector, in order to support and disseminate new business initiatives in this field, thus promoting employment in the green economy.
Co-financed by the European Social Fund, it is made up of investors, funders and people interested in entrepreneurship, focuses exclusively on the sustainable economy and seeks to integrate initiatives to support entrepreneurship and the creation of synergies with them to put them at the service of entrepreneurs.
