More than a hundred green entrepreneurs are committed to circular business models during the celebration of the Green Circular Days

The Biodiversity Foundation has brought together a hundred people interested in the circular economy during the celebration of the Green Circular Days.

The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has brought together a hundred people interested in the circular economy at its headquarters in Madrid during the celebration of the Green Circular Days, in which circular business models have been promoted among the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem.

During these two days, a hundred experts and entrepreneurs, who are committed to circular business models, have highlighted the opportunities and potential offered by the circular economy to carry out an ecological and fair transition.

This event included a session on “Advances, challenges and challenges in the circular economy” by Jesús Martínez Linares, vice president of Circular Economy and Climate Change at the Inspiring Committed Leaders Foundation (ICLF) who stressed that “we have to generate models that do not stop development but do stop the environmental impact” and encouraged “changing technology knowing that green is profitable, we must transform society from science”.

OBJECTIVE: CREATION OF GREEN COMPANIES
Green Circular Days has been carried out under the umbrella of the Emprendeverde Network, the largest green entrepreneurship community in Spain, to which more than 9,300 people already belong and whose objective is to support the creation and consolidation of new companies that contribute to promoting a fair ecological transition.

This third edition has focused on more practical activities divided into four thematic blocks where interested people have selected their participation: financing and investment in circular economy, eco-innovation and eco-design, communication and marketing in circular economy and successes and failures of circular ventures with a positive environmental impact.

In addition, the conference has focused on the 20 projects participating in the Circular Economy Entrepreneurship Lab, a training and accompaniment action where all the theoretical and practical aspects to develop more circular business models have been identified.

THE OPPORTUNITIES OF THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY
According to the International Labour Office’s (ILO) World Employment and Social Outlook report, policies that replace the traditional “extract, manufacture, use and dispose” model with the adoption of a circular economy that emphasizes the reuse, recycling, reconstruction and repair of goods, will create some 6 million new employment opportunities in the world.

Hence the importance of holding meetings such as these that help to identify and visualize real opportunities to generate employment, promoting new business models that make more efficient use of resources.

To this end, sessions, round tables, networking, training pills, participation dynamics, quick presentations of projects, a marketplace of circular products and services have been carried out in two spaces of action: circular space, where the main activities have been carried out, and green space, a multipurpose area where networking has been carried out and the marketplace of projects of the Circular Economy Lab.

The event, co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Empleaverde Programme, has been broadcast via streaming and is available online on the Youtube profile of the Biodiversity Foundation.
