The Biodiversity Foundation is looking for 100 people who want to change the world by going green

The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition has launched a new edition of the Emprendeverde Labs, free training and experimentation laboratories developed by the Emprendeverde Network. More than 100 entrepreneurs who already have a green and/or blue business idea will be able to participate, but who need help to mature and validate their sustainable project before launching into the market.

From October of this year, the selected people will have the opportunity to have the support and accompaniment of the largest green entrepreneurship network in Spain, of which more than 9,000 people are already part. In addition, they will be able to choose between four specialised training itineraries in areas such as climate change (Climate Change Lab), circular economy (Circular Economy Lab), sustainable rural development (Repuebla en Verde Lab) or the exchange of ideas with Europe, which in this edition will focus on the exchange with Portugal’s innovative green entrepreneurship ecosystem (European Connection Lab).

Participants will be able to acquire key knowledge to start their business through consolidated innovative methodologies such as Design Thinking or the Business Model Canvas or visits to companies and talks with a team of experts to learn about practical success stories and the latest trends.

IMPROVING ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS

According to the experience of the Emprendeverde Network, most of the people who embark on a green project have advanced knowledge in their area of specialization and a high sensitivity to the environment, but they need to improve their knowledge and skills necessary in the business management part (59%).

The Emprendeverde Labs offer participants specialized training and support to promote the development of their green businesses, as well as follow-up during the 6 months following their participation, at which time they obtain priority access to the support services offered by the Emprendeverde Network for the incorporation of their companies.

On the other hand, participants who create their company will have the support of the Biodiversity Foundation to disseminate their initiative and will receive a seal of company constituted with the support of the Emprendeverde Network.

Those interested in participating can register on the website labs.emprendeverde.es.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR A GREENER FUTURE

The world and Spain are subject to major environmental and social challenges to which it is urgent to seek innovative, creative, effective and sustainable solutions from the different actors in society.

In this context, green enterprises can play a prominent role as a transformative tool to move towards a greener and fairer economy, contributing with their initiatives to provide solutions for mitigation and adaptation to climate change, to promote new, more circular production models that minimise waste generation and a more efficient use of resources. to contribute to sustainable development and to fix population in depopulated and rural areas. Hence the importance of platforms to support green entrepreneurship such as the Red emprendeverde, promoted by the Empleaverde Programme and co-financed by the European Social Fund, whose main objective is to promote the creation of companies in the field of the green and blue economy.

#ADÁPTATE CLIMATE CHANGE

The Emprendeverde Network also organizes the meeting #Adáptate to climate change so that 15 people with green companies already created can generate new opportunities for collaboration, share their experience and improve their skills to adapt their initiative to the effects of climate change. The meeting will be held on October 9 and 10 at the headquarters of the Biodiversity Foundation. There they will also be able to witness inspiring experiences from other EU Member States of Ashoka’s programme: ‘Emerging Innovator Bootcamp: Collective Impact Retreat for Climate Change’.
