The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment participates in The South Summit, the largest meeting between entrepreneurs, investors and companies in southern Europe

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, through the Biodiversity Foundation, participates in The South Summit meeting, an initiative that brings together entrepreneurs, international investors and leading companies in innovation in Madrid with the intention of developing businesses, and which was inaugurated today by the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, who visited the Ministry’s stand. dedicated to the Emprendeverde Network.
 
From today until Friday, the Las Ventas venue becomes the largest meeting point for professionals and entrepreneurs from different sectors, as well as helping to promote and make a project a reality, reach commercial agreements or simply network among the attendees.
 
At the stand that the Ministry, through the Biodiversity Foundation, dedicates to the Emprendeverde Network, activities have been programmed such as a market-place, where different green entrepreneurs will show their products and services, a micro-showcase with different green products or meetings with investors from the Network, which will be made available to entrepreneurs to personally learn about their projects and answer their queries.
 
In addition, the director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Sonia Castañeda, inaugurated the presentation “Instruments to support green startups” in which the entrepreneurs Inés de Saralegui (from Respiro Car Sharing), and Rodrigo Aguirre, from Vivergi Fund, an entity whose mission is to accelerate the success of social enterprises that have social and environmental challenges as a business model.
 
ABOUT 20 ENTREPRENEURS SHOW THEIR PRODUCTS
During the first day of the South Summit (organized by Spain Startup, the Incyde Foundation and IE Business School), different entrepreneurs from the Emprendeverde Network such as Swan Water Solution, which offers optimized solutions for the use of water, or the bicycle courier company Mensos, showed their ideas at the stand of the Biodiversity Foundation.
 
Tomorrow, initiatives such as Gourmet Maestrat (which produces 100% organic extra virgin olive oil) or Smileat (which dedicates its business to organic baby food) will be present in Las Ventas to explain their business.
 
Finally, on Friday, the entrepreneurs of Sponsor an Olive Tree (an initiative to protect centenary olive trees) or Safari Crowdfounding, a crowdfunding platform for Startups, micro SMEs and SMEs, will share experiences.

A NETWORK WITH MORE THAN 7,300 MEMBERS
The Emprendeverde Network, which already has more than 7,300 members, is the first platform specialising in green business aimed at entrepreneurs and investors in order to promote the creation and consolidation of companies or new lines of business in activities linked to the environment, and to channel investment towards sustainable economic activities. The Emprendeverde Network is an initiative co-financed by the European Social Fund.
