The initiative seeks to contribute to the sustainable development of the Laciana Valley Biosphere Reserve, through the enhancement of heritage, landscape and biodiversity, through the development of some of the activities proposed in the Strategic Tourism Plan and the Biosphere Reserve Action Plan.

The initiative seeks to contribute to the sustainable development of the Laciana Valley Biosphere Reserve, through the enhancement of heritage, landscape and biodiversity, through the development of some of the activities proposed in the Strategic Tourism Plan and the Biosphere Reserve Action Plan.

The Laciana Biosphere Reserve Foundation has drawn up these plans that set out a series of activities that are respectful of the environment and attractive to visitors and tourists.

With the development of this project, two activities are intended to be carried out, the first contemplated in the Strategic Tourism Plan, and a second that gives continuity to the technical-administrative management of the Biosphere Reserve. On the one hand, it seeks to carry out the maintenance of several hiking trails and, on the other, to provide the managing body of the Valle de Laciana Biosphere Reserve with technical personnel to carry out these and other activities, including the search for forms of financing for the Biosphere Reserve.

In relation to the maintenance of hiking trails, these are three mountain routes that are currently marked and signposted. The maintenance will consist of clearing vegetation on the route of paths and tracks, replacing deteriorated signposts and direction indications at the junctions of the route. The routes that are intended to be conditioned are the Ruta de la Zamora, the Ruta de Cuetonidio and the Ruta de la Braña de Robles.

In this way, it is possible to enhance the tourist value of the area and also create fuel discontinuities that improve fire protection.
