Reducing the environmental impacts that occur in the territorial area of the Southeast Regional Park and improving the quality of its ecosystems is the objective of this initiative. A project that also seeks to encourage citizen participation and promote conservation activities and environmentally friendly actions.

Reducing the environmental impacts that occur in the territorial area of the Southeast Regional Park and improving the quality of its ecosystems is the objective of this initiative. The project consists of carrying out an extensive environmental dissemination and awareness campaign in different municipalities located in the area of influence of the Southeast Regional Park of Madrid, given the high rate of ignorance among the population of its environmental values and the benefits that its correct conservation entails.

A situation that is favouring the persistence of various environmental impacts, which degrade the existing ecosystems in the Park and significantly harm the populations of the different species that inhabit it.

Thanks to the development of the activities marked, a greater involvement of the population in their conservation is expected, and the collaboration of local administrations is also sought in the improvement of these ecosystems, the facilities for public use, the surveillance of the Park and other environmental improvement actions.

Specifically, the specific objectives are:

• To promote the development of environmental activities aimed at the population within the Regional Park, bringing them closer to its environmental values and its landscapes.
• Include in the school agendas of the participating municipalities informative and analysis workshops on the Regional Park, expanding information on its natural values, the most common environmental impacts and involving them in its active conservation.
• To involve the local population in information campaigns and improvement of the natural environment that surrounds them, through different volunteer days.
• Reduce the number and intensity of environmental impacts that result from misuse of the Regional Park.
• To promote citizen contact with this natural space, given its proximity, and to expand knowledge about it, so that interest in environmental issues increases.
• To encourage citizen collaboration in conservation tasks.
