The objective of the project is to promote opportunities that generate green employment in the Sierra de Guadarrama region.

The objective of the project is to promote opportunities that generate green employment in the Sierra de Guadarrama region.

The aim is to help self-employed workers and entrepreneurs of SMEs in the area, belonging to sectors in crisis, to increase their environmental awareness and qualification and promote the creation of green employment in the region.

With the declaration of the National Park, it is considered of great interest to undertake a project that allows the area and especially its workers to be guided so that they take advantage of the green employment opportunities generated by this situation and are oriented towards green employment as the main factor of wealth in the area. It is also intended to promote sustainable tourism as a mechanism to generate green employment, in activities that respect the environment.

The recipients are:

• SME entrepreneurs in sectors in crisis who need to open up new business opportunities.
• Self-employed workers who can define new business models oriented towards green employment.
• Workers of companies that can know the prospects of green employment in the area and can direct their improvement of professional qualification towards these green employment niches.

The project focuses mainly on professionals who carry out their activity in the geographical area of the region, with special emphasis on women and those over 45 years of age.

The results expected to be achieved with the project are the following:

• Training of 80 recipients although the project will reach a total of 380 workers.
• Creation of 2 new companies related to green employment.
• Identification of 10 business opportunities that generate green employment in the region.
