MITECO

The project aims to establish the strategic territorial basis for the development and sustainability of peri-urban agricultural spaces in the provinces of Granada, Tetouan and Chefchaouen, the latter two in Morocco.

The project aims to establish the strategic territorial basis for the development and sustainability of peri-urban agricultural spaces in the provinces of Granada, Tetouan and Chefchaouen, the latter two in Morocco.

To this end, activities will be developed to guarantee agricultural development, enhancement and awareness of the natural and cultural heritage of these landscapes.

The achievement of this objective is achieved through the organisation of a seminar that functions as a forum for debate between professionals, from all the agents involved in the local development of peri-urban landscapes. The aim is to promote the exchange of information, experiences and knowledge to achieve sustainable local development. To this end, there will also be a meeting of provincial councils, town councils and island councils, with the aim of participating to promote the design of joint strategies with the municipalities.

In addition, to enhance the visibility of local initiatives that address development by integrating environmental, social and economic facets, the IV CONAMA Award for the Sustainability of Small and Medium-sized Municipalities is announced.

All this is complemented by the celebration of the V Provincial Conference on Local Sustainability, which will serve to develop and make available to the municipalities tools to improve their local environmental management.
