The initiative proposes a series of actions, aimed at workers in the sectors involved in the management of coastal zones in the autonomous communities of the Region of Murcia, Andalusia and Valencia. The general objective of FOR-MAR-II is the conservation of the coast through an adequate management of our Mediterranean coastal environment. To this end, it is essential to develop studies and prepare informative materials, as well as to offer specific environmental training for workers in the provinces subject to the project, whose work activity is carried out on the coast.

The recipients are workers of SMEs and micro-SMEs, self-employed workers and unemployed workers in the sector who carry out their activity in the Valencian Community, the Region of Murcia and in the coastal provinces of Andalusia.

The workers to whom the initiative is aimed belong to the following sectors:

• Waste management and treatment, gardening and beach maintenance companies.
• Rescue and lifeguard sector.
• Tourism sector.
• Environmental sector.
• Environmental and coastal management.

The objectives of the project are:

• Provide training for 150 recipients. The project will reach 1,605 workers.
• To provide adequate treatment of the Posidonia oceanica landings, a task that will be carried out by five beach cleaning and maintenance companies, whose workers participate in the project.
• Apply manual cleaning methods in areas with native vegetation and coves that are difficult to access. Five beach maintenance companies will be in charge, with workers taking part in the initiative.
