This initiative seeks to inform and raise awareness about the recovery of vehicles at the end of their useful life and the correct treatment to which they must be subjected once their last owner decides to get rid of them.

This initiative seeks to inform and raise awareness about the recovery of vehicles at the end of their useful life and the correct treatment to which they must be subjected once their last owner decides to get rid of them.

It will also affect the procedures necessary to obtain the administrative deregistration of the same. To this end, a manual of good practices in the management of end-of-life vehicles will be prepared and disseminated, with which it is expected to obtain a high rate of participation of professionals in the sector, thanks to the self-assessment questionnaire that will be attached and will serve as a knowledge meter.

The aim is to raise awareness of the new obligations implemented by Directive 2000/53/EC and Royal Decree 1383/2002 with regard to the treatment of end-of-life vehicles, as well as other regulations that stipulate what operations must be carried out for the correct environmental treatment of end-of-life vehicles.

The manual will include those practices that, without being marked as mandatory within current legislation, can help to improve the efficiency of the activities that are carried out daily in the companies that are part of the treatment chain. Likewise, the manual will include different actions that are illegal and that can lead to administrative or even criminal sanctions.

This project is mainly aimed at professionals in the sector of treatment and management of end-of-life vehicles, as well as those in other sectors directly or indirectly related to it and those responsible for the administration in charge of this issue. In addition, it will be available to all those users who are interested in it.
