The purpose of the initiative is to improve the environmental management of companies in rural Asturias to contribute to the identification of new activities that generate companies or to the diversification and consolidation of existing ones.

The purpose of the initiative is to improve the environmental management of companies in rural Asturias to contribute to the identification of new activities that generate companies or to the diversification and consolidation of existing ones.

The project foresees the development of a series of training, awareness-raising and dissemination actions, which will contribute to achieving the general objective set. Thus, the initiative is aimed at all those people and companies that need to acquire or expand their knowledge in the different aspects related to the environment.

Various studies have found that the existence in rural areas of a very atomised and diverse business fabric means that the training actions related to waste management proposed contribute to improving the environmental aspects linked not only to the construction sector, but also to other sectors.

Another of the planned training actions is more oriented towards an intersectoral treatment of those aspects related to the environmental management in general of SMEs and micro-SMEs in rural areas. It is expected that the scheduled seminars will contribute to general awareness, in addition to serving to attract attendees and beneficiaries for both the training actions and for the rest of the actions.

In addition to the preparation of general informative material, it is worth highlighting the preparation of a guide to improve the management of companies with the application of sustainable criteria in environmental management, the use of resources and the relationship with suppliers.
