The Chelonia Association is currently working on research aimed at expanding the record of population data on the Orinoco crocodile (Crocodylus intermedius), the most endangered crocodilian on the planet.

The research aims to improve knowledge about the causes that negatively affect the recovery of the species. Specific measures for their recovery are also being analyzed, such as ranching-zoobreeding-reintroduction.

Finally, it is proposed to continue with the process of raising awareness among the populations about the need to conserve the Orinoco crocodile and make sustainable use of natural resources in the plains ecosystems.
