Education and dissemination work are the pillars of this project that aims to alert about the ecology of this endangered species and its conservation problems.

“The sound of the forest” gives continuity to the conservation campaign for the Cantabrian capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus cantabricus), a species listed as Endangered within the National Catalogue of Threatened Species.

This awareness-raising action proposes measures to improve the quality of the Cantabrian capercaillie habitat and to deepen the aspects for a more favourable management of its environment.

The campaign includes three basic lines of action:

  • Habitat improvement.
  • Monitoring of populations and parameters related to the conservation of the species.
  • Awareness and dissemination.
