Beekeeping has been considered until recently as a marginal activity within livestock farming, but it is undeniable that it contributes effectively to fixing the population in rural areas.
Beekeeping has been considered until recently as a marginal activity within livestock farming, but it is undeniable that it contributes effectively to fixing the population in rural areas.
The direct benefits of beekeeping are completely overshadowed by the indirect benefits in agriculture and the environment.
Within the framework of the action, a series of activities will be developed. The first of them, the installation of pollination apiaries. An offer will be made to various natural parks, especially the Beech Forest of Tejera Negra (Guadalajara), where there is a deficit of pollinators as there are no hives inside. There are transhumant apiaries outside the park, which due to their own character and remoteness do not completely cover the needs of all the plants that inhabit it.
The “Beehives for the Beginning” program will also be relaunched, currently paralyzed due to lack of economic resources until 100 hives are left in batches of six novice beekeepers throughout Spain.
Finally, the collection of swarms will continue to be attended to and facilitated, eliminating the travel fee that was requested to meet the expenses of the same.
