The objective of this initiative is to guarantee the conservation and good condition of the populations of birds of prey present in the SPA La Muela and Cabo Tiñoso and to study the possibilities of increasing the production of solar energy as a means of supplying renewable energy and with a lower environmental impact to the desalination plant.

The Valdelentisco desalination plant is located at the southwestern end of the La Muela and Cabo Tiñoso SPA and SCI, in the municipality of Cartagena (Murcia). This area is a coastal-coastal mountain range in which several habitats of community interest are found. There are also numerous birds included in Annex I of the Birds Directive.

This proposal is proposed with a double objective:

• To guarantee the conservation and good condition of the populations of birds of prey present in the SPA La Muela and Cabo Tiñoso.
• Study the possibilities of increasing the production of solar energy as a means of supplying renewable energy and with a lower environmental impact to the desalination plant.
