This initiative is being developed in the Chaco ecoregion, shared by Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina, an important area with endemic fauna species and fragile forest ecosystems, which constitutes a natural base of livelihood for indigenous people and ranchers.

The current use of the land and the production system has caused problems of degradation, which put at risk the maintenance of an ecosystem of vital importance. This aspect denotes the need to promote the construction of sustainable regions, focusing on promoting development at the local scale, so the evaluation and management of resources will be focused from a macro vision beyond political limits, allowing the generation of truly sustainable conservation and development strategies.

These measures are intended to give the Chaco ecoregion the possibility of adaptation and mitigation in the face of events derived from climate change.
