The objective of the project is to promote sustainable and ecological aquaculture in the province of Malaga, following international, national and regional guidelines, to promote the development of this sector, from a framework of environmental, social and economic sustainability.

AQUA-NOSTRUM is aimed at SME, micro-SME and self-employed workers in rural areas and the coast of Malaga, supporting disadvantaged groups as a priority.

The specific objectives of the project are:

• To increase the skills and qualifications of workers in the aquaculture sector.
• To promote and improve employment in the sector.
• To promote the creation of companies and the modernisation, diversification and/or reconversion of existing companies in the sector.
• Adapt aquaculture activity to environmental regulations.
• To improve knowledge and promote the development of the sector.
• Facilitate networking, associationism and the exchange of experiences between key actors in the sector.
• To disseminate and raise awareness of the importance of sustainable and ecological aquaculture.
• Promote eco-innovation with R+D+i initiatives in companies in the aquaculture sector.
• Ensure the sustainability of the project activities as well as their continuity.
