The Biodiversity Foundation and the EFE Foundation are calling for twenty scholarships for regional environmental journalism. The aim of this initiative is to promote the practical specialisation of young journalists in environmental reporting.
This initiative, which lasts one year, allows twenty young students in the final year of journalism and graduates in recent years to start their professional career by providing specialised information in the delegations of the EFE Agency in the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Ceuta, Extremadura, Galicia, La Rioja, Madrid, Melilla, Murcia, Navarra, the Basque Country and Valencia.
The aim of the Specialization Scholarships in Environmental Journalism is to contribute to filling a gap in the field of journalism specialized in the environment, helping to train rigorous professionals, capable of providing the keys to an increasingly complex field of information. It is also a matter of promoting the exercise of environmental communication at the regional level, considered the closest to citizens, since more and better information will result in greater awareness in society.
